This tradition has its origins in France, known as ‘Beaujolais Nouveau Day’. This holiday is held annually on the third Thursday of November in the small French town of Beaujolais. At the exact moment when the clock strikes midnight in the main square of the town, where all the winemakers and guests gather, corks are removed from the barrels to the uttering of "Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!” ("Beaujolais has arrived!") And so the festival begins, accompanied by a grandiose fireworks display and public rejoicing.
In keeping with tradition, the Chabiant wine estate organises an annual wine festival called ‘Vino Nuovo’, similar to the famous Beaujolais Nouveau Day, which is held all over the world. There are various contests, tempting prizes, charity auctions and relaxing music – and this is only a small part of the celebration! A traditional mulled wine and, of course, a bottle of Vino Nuovo as a gift is presented to all the guests of the event.
