Tahir Salahov’sworld of colors
The exposition of the museum, which was opened in 2012, is dedicated to the life and work of People's Artist of Azerbaijan Tahir Salahov, and includes his paintings and personal archive. The artist donated 735 exhibits to the museum; among them are his paintings, personal belongings, carpet collection and photo archive. The last floor of the three-storey museum was once used by the artist as a workshop. The museum displays portraits authored by Tahir Salahov of his contemporaries - Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirov, Mstislav Rostropovich, Dmitry Shostakovich and other prominent people, as well as many still lifes, compositions and works of other genres. Memorial items of the artist, photos reflecting his social activities can also be of interest to the guests of the museum. The house-museum is open to visitors daily except Monday from 10:00 to 18:00. The tickets can be purchased at the museum's entrance.
